Bush defended Vice President Dick Cheney's pre-war assertion that the United States would be welcomed in Iraq as liberators.

"I think we are welcomed," he said. "But it was not a peaceful welcome."

Similarly from the same artical:

"I heard, you know, a couple of people say ... `Bush didn't respond
because of race_ because he's a racist,' or alleged that," Bush said.
"That is absolutely wrong. And I — I reject that.'

"You can call me anything you want, but do not call me a racist.
Secondly, this storm hit — all up and down (the Gulf). It hit New
Orleans. It hit Mississippi, too."

Cause, ya know, Mississippi is so VASTLY diffrent in population make up from New Orleans. It seems to be largly poor areas with a few rich schmucks sitting in the middle in isolation from everything else around them.

And I don't think Bush is rasist because he didn't bother to respond. I think he's classist. Cause damn if he didn't move until rich people were going to be effected to... and we've seen his track record of helping out the rich while screwing over the poor already...

"I feel like I'm getting some really good advice from very capable people and that people from all walks of life inform me and inform those who advise me," [Bush] said. "I feel very comfortable that I'm very aware of what's going on."

...

"I don't feel in a bubble. You feel in a bubble in the sense I can't go walking out the front gate and go shopping like I'd love to do for my wife -- although I may, and I'm not going to tell you what I'm going to buy her," said Bush.

"I just talked to the president-elect of Honduras. A lot of my job is foreign policy. And I spend an enormous amount of time with leaders from other countries, and they come right here in the Oval Office and tell me what's on their mind. And I tell them what's on my mind," he said.

I think those bits kinda speak for themselves....

In Philadelphia on Monday, Bush stood by his decision to invade Iraq in March 2003 even though some 30,000 Iraqis and more than 2,100 American troops have died. He acknowledged the U.S. image overseas is suffering because of Iraq, but likened it to the rocky start for U.S. self-government in the 18th century.

"Knowing what I know today I'd make the decision again," the president said.

...Ya know, it's pretty sad when you have to compair the actions of the lone remaining super power to that of a country in its infancy to explaine why things aren't going well...

Edit: Since I'm spamming with an entry anyway:

I think I figured otu WTF is up with my hip. See, my right foot's been walking at a 45 degree angle again... When I force it parallel, there's no stabbing pains.

Time to start paying attention to m'feet again. ^^

This is kinda a duh issue here... The factory areas are ALWAYS going to be the poverty areas because all the people with money move away the instant a factory even hits at setting up. Property values area low because the area the factories are in is always shitty because of the crap the factories spew. Since an unheathy amount of minorities are in the poorer side of the scale, and very few people care about the poor or the minorities, they get to deal with the majority of that crap.
