... so I need a new doctor.

Went to talk to her about the asthma thing and the conversation went more or less like this:

Me: I think I have asthma.
Her: Okay, I'll write you a script for an inhaler. And if it doesn't work, then we'll do some tests.

I was in there for a grand total of TEN MINUTES. Half of which was her not remember what I was there for a follow up for. This woman has been nothing but an airhead all 3 times I've seen her. *facepalms* She didn't even realize that the thyroid meds I'm on are from a script from HER OFFICE. She told me to have the endocrinologist handle it from now on since I'm seeing one at the moment to figure something else out.

Figuring out the thyroid stuff is not hard! You draw some blood, do some tests, see if the levels are right and if they aren't, you adjust them. What is so hard she wants me to have another office handle it for?!

So. Yeah. Getting a new doctor. This one is just...

I only have a $10 copay and I still felt ripped off.

I had a doctor like this awhile back :/ was in-out in 5 minutes, even if there was a half-hour wait, and if I was even a couple minutes late she would leave. so. I FEEL YOU THERE

Uug. That REALLY blows!

This one was a 45 min wait between seeing the nurse to get vitals and seeing the doctor. The nurse spent more time than the doctor did!

Thankfully there's like.. 8 doctors in the complex, so with some time, I can find another good one. Still miss the old one, but she moved practice to another town that's too much a pain to drive out to. *sad face*

I didn't have any tests done for my asthma. =O They just threw a script for Ventolin at me. Although, the first one was Seretide, and then a different one, and then eventually the Ventolin.

Jeez. Not even "here, blow into this spirometer"?

I dunno, maybe all you need is a referral to a specialist, but that's definitely a shitty attitude from your GP.

Not even that. She did that "take in a deep breath while I listen in" thing that you get every checkup and that was it.

And I'd much rather see a GP about something that routine cause specialists cost more and all of them are a half hour from my house where as the GP is 15 min. And really, I'm only expecting to see the endocrinologist like... 5 times max since it's mostly for diagnostic reasons.

And she wasn't even the one who recommended that one. She had no idea I was even seeing one until I told her.

*headdesk*

The next question is, how far do you have to drive to get to a *good* GP? (I'm hoping this (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Fair+Haven,+Vermont&daddr=624+boulevard+Du+Seminaire+Nord,+Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu,+QC+J3B+7B4,+Canada&hl=en&geocode=%3BFVaDswIdqxOi-w&mra=ls&sll=45.319444,-73.264217&sspn=0.00559,0.013937&ie=UTF8&z=8) isn't the answer.)

There's about 8 or some in the same office/complex. I'm trying one of the others and, worse comes to worse, I'll just go see my old one in Rutland (the said 30 min away) cause she was pretty awesome.
