Here's a radical solution to the abortion debate: Require manditory tube tieing of all males. That way, inorder for pregancy to to occure would be through planning and artifical insemenation and there would be no need for abortion at all (baring massive medical mishap.)

Better yet, steralize everyone. No more pregancy peroid! Will solve alot of the Earth's problems right there!

I've got a better idea. Anyone sterilized before age 50 is exempt from income tax for life -- until they decide to reverse the procedure or have children from stored cells. Everyone else's taxes go up to cover the nut (so to speak).

It's voluntary, provides a powerful incentive, and puts the burden where it belongs.

That'd work pretty well long as the sterilizaion process was covered by either insurance or welfare. So no cash out of pocket to start with.

Thing is though, what services does income tax actualy pay for, consideing the insane amount of other taxes out there? Gas tax -> paying for roads, Property tax -> Schools (or at least it does here) booze and tobacco tax -> heathcare, ect.

Except mandatory tube-tying would encourage rape due to the lack of physical evidence left behind...

Might make it more difficult to prove the identity of the rapist, but believe me, my husband had a vascectomy 15 years ago, and there's still plenty of 'evidence' following intimacy.
