Review of "Symphonic Music of Depeche Mode"
Track 1 - "Intro" Filler/fluff, but nice.
Track 2 - Never Let Me Down - *drools and gibbers* Done niiiiicely... so nicely... Doesnt' lose the feel of it while still being nice and diffrent. Like a kick ass remix almost.
Track 3 - Enjoy the Silence - Also very nice...
Track 4 - I Feel You - Not as impressive, think I like the orginal better.
Track 5 - Little 15 - (a more detaled review as I'm listening to it now) The vocal line first done on a DEEP base cello... *drool* so nice... Lots of stingness and brase.... Ooo... the part right now is done so well.. ('She wants to see with your eyes') Nice layering. This would be good to sing kareoke to... :) (And I can't spell that word because I learned it in english first.) It almost seems more... ominous this way... :) Nice layering... I'm just a sucker for ochestral stuff. :) Abrupt ending.
Track 6 - Stripped - Vocal line done with strings. By the first verse it picks up some... Not too bad. Nice synth bells for the end bridge. Could have a bit more layering, but still, very nice... (and as I write that it gives more layering! Yeay! :)
Track 7 - Policy of Truth - Yeay strings! Interstingly done. A bit of a lighter feel at first... The bit where they're trying to reproduce the ... the car vroomish noise (you know what I'm talkign about) is funny... :)
Random comentary on the cover: Done with scrach lettering, black back with a naked woman curled up into a fetal poistion. Side lettering donw Exciter style.
Track 8 - Walking in my Shoes - Done with piano replacing vocal. Intresting feel... sounds... almost like the intreamentaled stuff you hear in stores, o nly much better. :)
Track 9 - Useless - Flute doing the vocal line. .. Ya know, I suck at desciptions. :) Let's just say it;'s cool. Not as hard as the orginal
Track 10 - Higher Love - Spanish gutar vocal. Oo... Nice smooth feel here... Strings behind the gutar with flutes. It sounds neat.
Random coments : THis is put out by Cleopatra Records [CLP 1096-2] They don't give you any real info in the CD. The insert is just a track lsting with (c) M Gore on it. :)
Track 11 - Fly on the Windscreen - Oooo! Swelling base cello with occainal "AOHHA!" [Chorus ;) ] Niiiice... Pounding like it should be. :) Yeay strings! :)
Overall: KICK ASS! :)
