Conflict of "good for"s
As I find another thing that just makes me go ... and ><
Apparently, according to the folks over at Natural Living [how DOES one make a 'link to person/community' tag anyway? ><] mirowaves are BAD because they destroy nutrition and can cause negitive things, [crappy summery, I know.] and thus should be avoided. Full or toaster ovens are the way to go.
According to the eco groups, microwaves are conservation godsends because they use minimal energy for max results and should be used in place of a regular oven when at all possible.
Accroding to Feng Shue [I still can't spell that. ><] Microwaves are bad because of the radiation and it effects the balance of the food and something else I don't remember compleatly.
According to energy conservation, compact florecents are the way to go as they are highly efficant and use far less electric to light a room.
According to living in tune with nature, full spectrum incandecents are the way to go as they similate natural light. CFLs are bad because of how the light is made [I forget details again and am too lazy to look it up] and some beleive they can cause heath problems.
Feng Shue says that CFLs are bad as well, as the artifical nature of the light causes imbalances.
....
Apparently, efficancy and energy conservation just isn't natural. These are just two examples, but it just... drives me a little crazy how often 'Eco' and 'Natural' are at odds with each other when you'd think they'd be the same advice!
