Only one car in ten manufactured since 1982 requires high-octane gasoline. High-octane gas releases more hazardous pollutants into the air, and may be bad for your car.

O.o?! Anyone know anythign on this? Some how that doesn't seem right....

I don't know about the pollutants part, but I'm pretty sure it is true that high-octane gas is harmful to cars that aren't made to specifically use it.

There is very little reason for the high-octane gas to exist. Really, they should just put it all into Unleaded.

High octane is only necessary for high compression engines.
