Linex: Day 1

@_@ It's like going from DOS to a GUI or vise versa. Everything's diffrent and you have to beat it into shape to get it how you want.

... doens't help that Dad screwed sonmething up when he installed it, which I had to fix. Or that the IM program that doesn't suck, it's the OLD version, which doesn't have half the features inabled, but to install the new version, you have to do this little song and dance.. ><

And tried to install Thunderbird to use for email and I couldn't even get the stupid thing to unpack right. O.o Something broken in that thing...

So... yeah. 2-3 hours later I finaly hit a level were enough frustration was enough and came back to the system I've been learnign how to use for 10 years ^^;

Learning new stuff is hard. >< innit there a magical thingi I can do that'll download the 'Tricks of KDE Linex' knowlage into my brain? Cause right now I feel like an AOLer in knowlage level. ><

[I need to figure out how to get an image editor on there too. @_@ ]

My cousin swears by Linux (and he's definitely a reliable computer resource). I could ask him for some pointers for you.

Well, I have my dad on call in tech suport. :) He keeps giving me mini lessions when he's over but dealing with errors in anything is just argel.

I should ask him about compileing packages to install next time. -_-

Probally would be a good idea for pointers though. :) I have the easy stuff down pretty well [ya know, one click instead of two and how the mounting system works, not that I remember how to mount stuff, just how to get to what dad's mounted for me. :D]
