Digital clutter
I just deleated 300 emails from a box, almost all unread. Everything that was there a post from a yahoo group. It's all archived there. And I probally won't ever read it.
I keep so many things... in physical life and in digital life. One look at my desk will show you that.
The portion of my Fdrive that is not programs has 52,252 files in 1,576 folder. 44.3 gig. The Ddrive has 5,650 in 412 folders, only 676meg. I have at least a hundred CDRoms, if not more, a good 20 DVDroms.
Files. Images. Text. Sound. Video.
If I consumed every peice of digital media I had back to back, I probally wouldn't have to leave this chair for a year, if not more.
...
What do I need all this stuff for? O.o

i had masses and masses of crap on here, but i lost most of it when my computer crashed... i know how hard it is to part with your stuff, though, even if you know you won't need it, there's a little part of your brain that goes 'but you never know...!' and it can be very hard to ignore that... usually i end up "cleaning" my system by having it crash every couple of years. :D
