We're reading Beowulf in class, right?
Assigment for tomorrow we have to read the intro and the first 30 pages.
.. and I just.. cannot get through the intro. I got like.. 5-6 pages into it and my brain just started screaming. It's all huge paragraphs and my brain's just seeing 'blahblahblah' and my head is hurting and it's just ARG. ><
It's like when I got handed the really freaking huge HP book [I don't even remember which it was...] and I got into the 2nd chapters and my brain just... broke. I could NOT read for months after because it was just too much. Too many words, so many paragraphs, words not being anuthing but letters put together and it just...
*curls up* I hate this. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get the results of the dyslexia test and find out if it is that or if it's something else. I need to start my lit asigments sooner so I can go to the suport center. So far everything we've been reading has been poem format so I've been okay. Once I get to the actual story I should be fine again but this intro--
I just can't do it.

Book on Tape/CD?
You might want to check in the school library or even in the nearest public library. They might have a copy of it on a tape or CD that you could check out, which might work better than trying to read it. If they don't, they might be able to get it from another library, too. Even if it's a different translation (modernification?), it'll still get the point across.
That, or skip the intro for now. If your professor is anything like mine have been so far, you'll hear about anything important (read: anything on the test) in class, anyway.

I had to read the epic poem in my senior year in High School. I've already read the Illiad and the Odysy back in the fifth grade. So I was all like hey cool, but this was AWFUL.
Beowolf simply sucks and I'm sorry.
