The SI now has aplot. Woot.

"It's really okay that I take these...?" The American girl asked, looking up at Yuugi from the small stack of cards that he had pulled out.
"Sure!" Yuugi smiled. "It'll be fun to see you play. I've never seen a deck made of those types of cards before."
The girl gave a small embarrassed laugh. "Yeah, it's a bit different," she admitted, looking through the pile.
"Doesn't look like you have any attack monsters, it's all high defence and direct damage," Yuugi observed with a nod.
Fran nodded. "I just never had much luck when I attacked," she explained. "I'd always--" she paused, searching for the right word in Japanese. "open?" she guessed, making vague gestures to indicate it wasn't quite the right word, "my opponent's trap cards."
Yuugi nodded.
"And when I got Lava Golem, it all just came together."
"Eeeeh?" Yuugi exclaimed, eyes wide. "You have a Lava Golem? That's a really rare card!"
The girl gave a small embarrassed laugh. "Yeah. My friend got it in a pack. She had no use for it so she gave it to me," she smiled. "I think it's the only rare card I own."
"Sort of like Jiichan's Blue Eyes White Dragon," Yuugi grinned.
"Eeeh?" This time is was Fran's turn to be amazed. "Your grandfather has that card?!"
Yuugi nodded proudly. "You should ask to see it, he'll go on for a hour about how he got it and how Kaiba-kun tried to take it from him."
"Kaiba-kun...?" Fran repeated before giving a surprised exclamation in English. "As in Kaiba Corporation Kaiba?"
Yuugi nodded again.
The girl blinked a long moment before covering her mouth, eyes going wide. "I just realized... You're-- you're THAT Yuugi, aren't you? The one who won all those tournaments?"
The small duelist rubbed the back of his neck, looking embarrassed, nodding.
"And you're my height," she said in English before covering her mouth again. "I mean..." she said quickly in Japanese. "You look different in person then-- I mean-- I-- Wow." She finally finished, laughing at herself. "My friends are never going to believe this."
Yuugi laughed as well. "Just don't go asking for autographs. Jiichan keeps trying to get me to do promotions for the store signing cards for kids. It's kinda embarrassing," he said with a small blush.
"I'd think so," Fran smiled, nodding.
"You guys done yet?" Jounouchi yelled over from the other side of the room. "We've got the table cleared and I've had my deck shuffled for five minutes, get a move on!"
The girl grimaced slightly. "Sorry! I'm almost ready!" she called back, looking through the cards again. "I hope I can remember which cards are which," she laughed. "I'm so bad with kanji... Bad with reading in general but..." she laughed softly. "It's always harder when you're not too familiar with the language." She bit her lip, looking the cards over. "I probably won't do too well, without my Golem I have to rethink my main strategy a bit..." She reflected.
Yuugi looked thoughtful a moment, then nodded, turning back to the box of cards. "Here," he said, holding out a card. "I think this would work well in your deck."
The girl's eyes went wide. "Mask of Restrict?" she looked up. "But-- but this is a rare card..."
"Think of it as a replacement for your Lava Golem," Yuugi smiled. "So that the spirit of your friends will still be in your deck."
Fran looked at him a moment before giving a large smile. "Thank you..." she said, accepting it.
"Now, let's see this deck in action!" Yuugi grinned, heading for the living room.
"Oh yeah? Well I can get around THAT," Jounouchi declared, glaring at the Mask on the field.
"I'll be ready when you do," Fran grinned cheerfully.
"C'mon, Fran!" Anzu cheered. "Take his ego down a peg!"
"Hey!" Jounouchi exclaimed, glaring at the girl.
"Just pull some of that 'Jounouchi Luck' of yours and stomp over that wall," Honda, grinned at his friend.
"It'll take a bit more then just luck to deal with that," Bakura pointed to Fran's field.
Jounouchi scowled. "I'm not JUST a luck duelist, ya know," he reminded.
Yuugi covered his laugh as he watched. It was nice, he reflected, having someone new in their group. He gently cradled the Puzzle in his palm, remembering his wish.
"Ha! Time Wizard! You're going down now, girl!" Jounouchi shouted triumphantly.
"Aaaa, my Library..." the girl lamented, removing the card from the field.
'If it hadn't been for you....' Yuugi thought silently to his other self, smiling fondly.
Yami Yuugi's see-through form appeared next to his partner. 'That isn't true, Aibou,' he corrected.
Yuugi looked over, blinking.
Yami Yuugi nodded to where Fran was laughing. 'You made friends with her without my help,' he pointed out. 'And your own strength brought Jounouchi and Honda to your side.'
Yuugi looked over as there was cheering and cursing from the duel.
Jounouchi was pulling at his hair as Anzu gave Fran a high five.
"Thank you, Yuugi-kun!" the American smiled happily at the boy. "That card works perfectly!"
"Yuuugiiii," Jounouchi whined, looking over at his friend. "YOU gave her that pain in the ass card?"
"Eheheh..." Yuugi rubbed the back of his neck as his friend gave him a betrayed look.
"Aa, everyone!" Yuugi's grandfather waved around a piece of paper as he entered the room. "Good news! Kaiba Corporation is going to be holding another tournament the end of the month! We just got the flyers delivered."
Jounouchi was on his feet in a flash, snatching the paper from the old man's hand. "All right!" he grinned. "Yuugi, you in?" he asked, handing the paper to the smaller boy.
Yuugi looked over the information before looking to his other self, expecting him to take over.
'Aibou... I think you should do this one,' the spirit said with a small smile.
'Eh? You mean you don't want to...?' Yuugi asked, curiously.
Yami Yuugi shook his head. 'Every tournament we've been in together, there's been something we needed to accomplish, which is why I always dueled for you. But you've gotten stronger, possibly even stronger then I am.' He looked up a the boy. 'I want to see you shine, Aibou. I want to see you duel.'
"Oi, Yuugi." Jounouchi passed a hand in front of the boy's face. "I asked ya, are you in?"
Yuugi looked up at his friend with a smile and nodded. "Of course!"
"May I see that?" Bakura asked, reaching for the paper. "It's open invite, no dueling level required," he read. "Random selection ladder, single elimination knock out." He nodded. "I think I may join this as well, since it's unlikely we'll all be scheduled to duel at once," he smiled. "Whomever's not dueling can cheer for those who are."
"Sounds like a plan," Honda nodded.
"So hey, maybe all you guys can join in, if it's open invite." Jounouchi grinned.
"No way," Honda shook his head. "I don't even have a deck!"
"And I haven't dueled since before Duelist Kingdom when you guys got all serious," Anzu pointed out. "I'm fine just cheering," she smiled.
Jounouchi turned to Fran. "So, then just us four then?"
The girl startled. "Eeh? You want me to...?" she asked, pointing to herself.
"Sure, why not? I mean, you kicked my ass pretty well, you aughta do decently," Jounouchi nodded. "Just don't expect to win so easily next time, I'm gonna beef up my deck to beat your little combo, you watch!" he grinned.
She smiled, giving a small nod.
"All right!" Jounouchi made a triumphant gesture. "Tomorrow, we'll go town to Kaiba's playground and sign up!"
Yuugi smiled happily at his friends enthusiasm, hand touching the side of the Puzzle once more. 'I'll show you my strength,' he promised silently. 'The strength that you gave me....'

Again, I don't think this is Sueish at all. I guess critics might be all "OMG SHE ONE TEH DUAL!! SUE!!!" but you can't have her losing. And besides, Jounouchi is a luck duelist. He's gotta lose some times. I think you're doing great. :D
