People who do the 'I won't update til I get at least X number of reviews' thing. Why do people put up with that? I mean, if I went and did a 'And I'm not updateing til I get at least 10 people emailing me to say how great I am for doing this.' While, granted, I had had fits of saying I'm gonna do similar stunts [like makign a random 'APRECIATE MY WORK, INGRATES!' post on the tagboard or update page or something, or debating makeing the entire site invite/donate only after some arse has made me feel really bitter abotu the whole deal.]

I dunno, it's like these people think by posting a fanfic that the masses should worship them or rain praise on them for some reason. I dunno. This also probally falls under the catagory of 'why do garbage fics get 500+ reviews and good fic get 5-10.

I think I'm rambling now. ^^;

There have been times I've considered it...especially, like now. When I need the money!

Fuckin' Hungry Egos

Kill the Hungry Egos! *raises pitchfork*

Yeah...that made no sense. :P But overall, it expressed my general view of that phenomenon.

Like why do all of these suck ass assmeat fics get all of these reviews?

Well, when you look at the reviews they're the OMG, I <3U fic! More! You know, the ones written by people who are barely literate themselves.

I'd take one thoughtful, critiquing review over that garbage anyday.

Also, the more intelligent and better written the fic, the least likely it's going to be read because it'll go over their fluffy little heads.

Still, ASSMEAT!

I think that thing would disappear were there a hit count system accessible. I guess, since a lot of people don't review, it's nice to try and figure out exactly how much interest there is in your story, so you can place it on a list of priorities and figure out how to improve it and such.

But giving ultimatums is just stupid. I lose respect for anyone who does that. Asking for reviews -even if just for an ego feed- is one thing, saying you won't update unless you get them is quite another.

I've often ranted about the same thing (in fact, I do it in my FF.net profile, lol). It drives me insane! So does the fact that a story with every other word spelled wrong or mis-used will get over a hundred reviews, while a well-crafted one sometimes barely nets ten. Grr. Argh. :(

P.S. Here via your comment in ygo_yaoi. :)
