*happy sigh*
Best review ever:
[For First Kiss]
"Just some general comments on the fic:
I really like it so far, despite everything. This is what I have a feeling the fandom doesn't have enough of (though I have hardly any experience with Yuugiou fics): Fanfics that try to make strange pairings *work*, and acknowledge that some of these ideas may bring up strange issues, badness, and surprising things about the characters. "First Kiss" is a perfect example; not once do I think what is happening is OOC or just impossible. In fact, I'm even starting to come up with reasons *why* Bakura would be attracted to Kaiba in the first place.
I read the premises of yours and Judy's fics with reservation, Fran, being as they start off with pairings that would be unappealing to me, for a variety of reasons. Somehow, though, I am drawn in to these tales and continue reading them, which I hope stands as a testimony to the writing skills involved. "
Nummy praise.

There are a lot of "romantic" fics out there that pair people up just for the sake of pairing people up, and don't think about whether or not it'd actually be feasible.
This is not just in the Yuugiou fandom; it's horridly rampant in the Harry Potter fandom as well. :-P I'm a staunchly canon Harry Potter shipper. LOL!
