More Sphere

Diane scowled, staring up at the ceiling of the tent. They should have found the blasted village by now, but it felt like they had been going in circles. Jarama had not said a word since that morning, which was fine with Diane. It was also interesting to note that Jarama had not used the ointment, but instead had been casting small healing spells the entire day. The magic user had been exhausted by nightfall, and had fallen asleep instantaneously, clutching her no-longer-broken wrist protectively as she slept.
The older woman rose to her feet and exited the tent. The previous nights she had placed herself in a light trance, phasing out her awareness until the morning, but she couldn't do so this night. She felt irritated and anxious. She wanted to be out searching for Lynn, but she didn't dare leave Jarama behind. It also irked Diane that Jarama was able to dream and escape from her current situation, but she could not.
She cracked her knuckles, and stretched her leg muscles. It was a rather useless activity, being all she had to do was reform them to get them in better shape, but it had become almost a ritual. Gracefully she leaned back on her left leg, her hands posed in front of her as her eyes narrowed. Then swiftly she began her battle with her imaginary opponent, skillfully punching, kicking and dodging, at a fantastic speed, her hands a blur of motion. She suddenly jumped into the air, flipping perfectly to land a swift kick to her non existent opponents back.
Swiftly she began again, her eyes becoming harder and her maneuvers faster. In her minds eye she saw Jarama before her, full of hate. Soon she was gone, down on the ground in a motionless heap. Next it was the man who she was sure had kidnapped Lynn. Then he was replaced by one of the men they had met on the road.
Again and again she ran through the drills, perfectly executing her maneuvers. Over two hundred season cycles of looking for this Sphere, and the girl who will most likely receive it's power is a complete bitch. She spun around, kicking another invisible enemy. Two hundred season cycles. She thought again, her speed increasing once more. Briefly she thought of waking Jarama and forcing her into telling her The Sphere's location. And become an honourless cur as she is? She whirled again, shoving her wrist into the imaginary enemy in front of her with impressive force. She couldn't leave Lynn with Jarama, and she knew Lynn would not abandon her friend, so she was stuck on this path.
Suddenly, she paused, her body still poised for fighting. There was a taint of magic to the air. Her eyes narrowed as she analyzed it. A spell of confusion She frowned. No wonder they had not been able to find the camp! Closing her eyes she concentrated, mentally reaching out to the spell. Grabbing hold of it, she gave a yell of power and snapped it in two.
She opened her eyes, a smirk upon her face. I would like to see that little magic user do THAT! She grinned, punching the air in front of her into oblivion.
