Meh

The client thingi i'n't workin'. Meh.

Random musingon how schools are destroying people by giving them artifical standards to live up to and preparing them only for more schooling, leaving us with another generation of A students who have no idea what to do with their life because all they can do is school work.

Preschool is prep for kindergarden, kindergarden is prep for elementary school, elementary school is prep from middle school, middle school is prep for high school, highschool prep for collge, college for grad school, grad school for a job.

And what do you do with this job you've spent so much time preparing for?

Creativity is being rejected in favor of following formulas.

have you ever noticed how now thing truely 'new' is being made or discovered? Everything is just an 'improvemnt' or variation of something else. The world is stagnating because the kid with perfect grades is what everyone is being pushed towards. If the answer isn't exact, you get no poitns.

My brother is the 'golden child' in my mothers eyes.

And he has nothing. He has no beleif in himself, he has no creativty he can pullon anymore.

But he has As. He has a 98-ish advrage. He's going to a top school.

He has no idea what he's doing or why he's doing.

I used to envy my brother. He was the prefect one. He could do wonderful art (I have some), wrote funny stories, was great with jokes and the like, was popular, well liked popular at that, teachers loved and adored him, most of the school was his friend in some way or another.

And he's miserable.

He has no motivation excpt stress and proving someone wrong when they say he can't do something. Everything I admired in him i sbeing leached from him.

but he's mommie's golden child because he gets As.

What is WRONG with the eduation system that it's so intent on shoving everyone into it's ideals that it destorys them?! ANd what dpes ot accomplish? What does it give us?

10th graders who can;t use quotation marks. People who can't or won't read. People who don't realize sci-fi and fantisy exist outside of TV because those books aren't recogised. It's perfectly fine to sentance your class to read 5 books on death, suidice, insest, rape and necorphia, but heaven forbid there's a bit of the sureal or the fantasitc. Heaven forbit it have something creative init.

When I was in 10th grade, I read 1984. It was a leftovercopy from when the class read it. Instead, we read Animal Farm. And I hear they're not having people read Harison Buergion(sp) anymore either.

Maybe they're afraid that people will get this eiery sence of deja vu...
