Not too many photos, buut...
The ride down was a bit stressful of the 'Wait, did I miss it somehow? Am I still on the right road? THis thing needs repaving! GAH stopping on a dirt hill BAD car moving backwards and spinning in muddish dirt PANIC' sorta way. Parked in a big muddy feild and headed in. Noticed half the people were not wearing shoes and was amused. Since I was still frazzled by the ride over, instead of hunting down teh first workshop I wanted to go to, I wandered around the vender area. Signed petitions and signed up for many mailing lists. Realized I had no idea wher ethe workshops were when the big tent turned out to be more venders.
[Side note: Sennet may remember my coment re: those annoying yellow ribbon car magnets, that I wanted to pen in a 'Bring them home' after the 'Suport our troops' and that someone should make that a magnet. Someone has. :D And I got one freee. I also got an Impeach Bush sticker. :D]
I got 3 books, one for Judy which was a 'Dumbing us down' book about public ed, a natural cleaning one [AMusingly enough, when I went to pay for it, another woman put her hand over it and went 'Baking soda. Everything with baking soda.' ] and "Radical Simplisicty". Also got Judy a spiffy pottery goblet.
At this point, Frannen is overheating cause 90s and MUGGY so I follow the sugestion and go poke at teh Theater in the woods thing. Pretty PRETTY woods. :love: I think I payed more attention to the woods then the play. :D Though it was amusing. Titled Prince Charming, it is a bit of a mashup of Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Said prince is trying to find Cinderelle but gets sidetracked. Wakes Sleeping Beauty. Gushes over her while Cinderella's fairy godmother has a 'nonononoNo! This is all wrong!' spaz. They go off and stumble upon the 7dwarves (and a visting cousin) Prince wakes her and gushes. Sleeping Beauty is not amused. She and Snow start getting into a bitch fight when the 8th dwarf, Sleazy, puts it on freeze and sells Prince a charm that'll basicly give him a +100 bonus on charming the ladies. So the bitchfight changes to a sandwich. They continue on.
Finaly, they find Cinderella and the Prince decides to have a little fun with the stepsisters and charms them, then guses over Cinder and gets 3 new additions to his harem and goes off for his 5x wedding. Last sceen, the charm gets busted, and the girls heave him out on his ass.
The temp had cooled down some, so the Frannen went over to the main stage, pausing to poke at the venders area some more. Spotted Ben [who works at the highschool. Was very not suprised to see his Alaskin ass there. :D] and chatted breaifly. I was kind amazed that I did recognize a handful of people. :D I avoided my former twit monkey of a teacher, and saw a teacher I'll be having next semester at the workshop I did get to. Which I went to after wandering around and looking at stuff because I finaly FOUND where they were being held. Or rather, I found the damned map that said where everything was. :D
Sat at the workshop, which was more a lecture, but the dude was very animated and amusing. (Twas the dude who did the Radical Simplisity book I had just gotten) I mean, he had a slide of 4 of his friends bikeing in the nude. (from the backside. :)) And since it was getting late and raining AGAIN and I did not want to have to ford out of the feild to get out, I wandered back out and headed home.
ANd now I'm hyper. :D Its like starting out I was tired and frazzled, and then I went zzzzzooooOOOOOOOOOMM! :D
