-_-

Fuzzybutts running wheel makes noise when he gets some speed up. LOTS of noise of the 'thunkthunkthunk' variety. This makes it impossible to get to sleep. -_- Must find a way to STOP the thunking cause the 'patapatapatapata' of just him running is fine. It sounds like rain when you're sleepy. Thunkthunkthunk does not sound like rain. It sounds like 'Something is WRONG!'

*sighs* Gonna try moving the wheel to his 2nd cage.

2:30 is not a good time to be awake when you have to get up at 7:15... it's just not. Stupid wheel...

Yes I know that problem all too well O_o;; I've had quite a few problems with being kept awake by my hamsters wheel, sometimes I've had to take it down breifly to get them to stop.

But with the hamster I have now the problem isn't the wheel cos she doesn't even use that anymore, it's chewing the bars. Man, they can't half make a noise when they do that >>; Luckily though she doesn't chew them loudly every night and once I'm alseep it doesn't bother me, it's just when I'm trying to get to sleep XD

Shou stopped chewing the bars after a little while, which was nice [we were all worried about it.] Got him some chewy things and little corn cobs and he now likes gnawing on his waterbottle's spout. ^^

Need to find a way to keep the wheel from clunking... Might see if padding it with cloth between the bars and the wheel might help. Can't simulate the noise when I'm moving it my'self either, which is odd...

I get my hamster chewy things all the time but it doesn't stop her from attacking the bars. I get her new toys, new food bars to chew on but nothing seems to grab her intrest for that long Oo;
Yes, my hamster loves to chew on the spout of the water bottle too, she does it right before taking a drink which is funny XD

Yeah I found I couldn't create the noise either when I played around the the wheel.
The only thing I can suggest is something an art teacher of mine suggested to me when I was 12 and I had my first hamster. She suggested to stop them from making so much noise at night to try and drape something like a large cloth over the cage during the day so it darkens the cage, it's supposed to trick them into coming out a bit more during the day than the night. It did calm my first hamster down a bit at night and he stopped making so much noise, but then he found out he could grab the cloth through the bars and chew holes through it so I stopped doing it after that XD;;
