Runescape vs KnN
Runescape is a game. It doesn't matter much outside of it how good my character is. KnN is a fandom endevour. It doesn't matter outside how good the site is. There's the Runescape comunity. On a whole, it's jsut as bad as the Yuugiou comunity, but, like the Yuugiou comunity, there's a small nitch of peopel who (for the most part) have intelegence and are enjoyable to hang out with and talk to. Wit the RS group, I'm fairly well known as me and by my pointy hat. With Yuugiou... I'm KnN. *sighs* Almost everyone in teh fandom knows who I am... I'm the person who runs KnN. If they don't know by the name, they know by the site. Yet Janime's site is always sited as being better, when it's not. In RS, there's thousands of people better then I am, and, in my mind, I'm in a little compition with them. I see someone with 86 herblore and I get very twichy/jelous/'Must get BETTER' But there are numbers to show what's better, and if I want to prove I am better, I have to get the number to prove it. I have the suport of the comunity to get that number. I can wear my black dragon and legends [And I'm leanring to spell thata gain!] cape and weild dragon weapons as a boast of my stats. KnN I can peroidly go 'OMG OVER 500,000 hits!!!'
RS takes alot of effort to get better in. But it's quite often fun effort. KnN takes alot of work. It's not fun most of the time. In RS, when I get another level or goal, I can go 'Horray!' with my RS friends and it's an acheivement. With KnN, if I cap another ep, I might have enough for an update. When I update, I sometimes get a 'Hey cool, more stuff!' but very rarely get much at all. In RS there are expectations of how I act. When I'm not ranging, not wearing my hat, not wearing black *Gasp! :D* But I can change and do whatever and just enjoy the jokeing coments. There are expectations of KnN. But lately I've been ignoreing it so those expecations are slowly lowering. As is, most liekly, the amount of peopel who come to the site. Because it's not updating every week. BUt people still want things. Every week another batch of 'SEnd me this!' emails. every now and then a 'DUDE your site ROCKS!' and inbetween are the 'How do you do all this? How do I do all this?'
I guess it's almost like 'UNpaid job' vrs 'Hobby' -_-
KnN doens't mean anything because it's all fan stuff. It's screencaps of someone elses work. RS doesn't mean anythign because it's just a game.
I started KnN cayse there were no good Yuugiou pages out there. There were very few good images and almost none of the lesser loved charactesr like Anzu and Honda. I started it with a goal, in a way. I wanted to make it the best. But it doens't matter now.
Maybe I should just go back to doing editing. Makeing winamp skins, wallpapers, icons, ect. Creative stuff rather then just capping. THis fandom just takes and takes, it seems. But yet, while I'm tired of giving... *sighs* It's there for the small amount of people who just want a referance. Who want to do something creative.
I dunno. Maybe I should just drop KnN and try and do something orginal, ya know? Or something meaningful.

And almost kinda wishing I hadn't tried to get credit for the panshot I spend an hour making that Janime used. I think that did alot to kill it. So much time and effort spend on something that everyone else got so easily... Lack of resources and money, always second best and always he badguy when dealing with those who get everything handed to them.
