... more textbook dumbshit.
"Lets consider two versions of teh same movie sceen. In teh first, a man is driving in a car. Cut to a woman lieing tied up on a railroad track. What is the relation ship between the man and the woman? Where is he going? With no more information then these two shots, you know automaticly that he cares for her and is going to save her."
Then they try and say that if they use a fade to black for the sceens, the connection is less clear.
.. WTF.
If you go from 'Guy in car' to 'Girl on railroad tracks' MY first thought is 'Hello classing images!' Someone tied up on the railroad track is from old black and white TV shows that Dudly Do-right parodies. A guy driving in a car COMPLEATLY clashes agaist that image. There is NO conneciton between the two because it's such a dumbshit pair of sceens that haven othing to do with eachother. Hell, for all you know the dude just put her on the tracks and is driving away cause he's freaking psycho.
*bangs head agaist wall*
Maybe I'm just not of the culture this book wants to be talking to... cause 99% of all the examples it gives are WRONG or made up of assumptions that make me go WTF
... and for utter irony, I just got an automated phone call from the cable company comfirming my apoiment to have someone take out 99% of the cable we have. [Thank you DSL! *hugs new modem*] We haven't watched move then a half hour of TV in nearing 3 weeks. And the only reason the TV was even on this weekend was cause of my idjit com asignment. [Teacher apparenly missed the sarcasm in a cartoon and now we're writing about it... ><]
... yeah, I bitch alot when I have to read these textbooks... and I am going to hand in the snark ass homework I posted yesterday. I fully expect weird looks and coments from the teacher. :D But goddamn it, how am I supose to do well in a public speaking class if I'm just expected to regirgitate BS? C'mon here!
