Funny?

Irony is funny.

Lets say you've spent alot of time hunting for this treasure. You finaly locate this big chest, covered in locks and protective charms and what not and after some work, you're down to the last lock. Slip the key in and pause a moment. It's the big moment, right? You turn the key and carefuly lift the lid to find...

A small battered plastic soldier, tenderly laid out. A child's treasure.

What would you do in that situation? Get angry? Break the toy into peices and throw it about the room? Or smile, laugh a little, and place it back in the box and close it.

There;s been many studies on why people laugh at things, at what they find funny. Brings to mind in Star Treck, Data's quest for humour. When two things so utterly dissimilar clash, when something you expected is utterly diffrent then what is presented, people laugh.

Someone who, when they got dressed in the morning, put on everything backwards and inside out. Someone carrying a toaster instead of a breif case, using a banana for a phone, mistaking one word for another, the clash of the obserd, is funny.

Why are people so afraid to laugh? Why must they be so uptight? So formal? So anal? Laughter is not about mocking.

So, I guess this is closeure. Again. I wish only luck in finding some sence of sanity and calmness within. Life has no script, people follow no pattern, things are not going to be as you wish them or exect them to be. And life would be quite boring any other way, don't you think? *laughs*
