There was pounding on the door. "Shinkou? Shinkou, I know you're in there!" Aralu's voice shouted through. Not getting a response, the woman opened the door and entered.
The room was a complete wreck. Almost everything that could be broken, torn apart or thrown had been. Everything had been torn from the walls, thrown off shelves and swept off every surface, making the room look like the aftermath of a huricane. Aralu stared mutely at the carnage for a moment, then at Shin. He was curled tighlty in a ball, his skin marred by the beginings of countless bruses and many small cuts, some with bits of glass or wood in them.
"Damn," Aralu breathed. "Shin..." She started toward the young man and paused as she stepped on glass. With only a moment's hesitation, she scooped him up and transported both of them to his old room. She set him down on the bed and began de-splintering him. "So, who did this, huh?" She stroked his hair lightly. "You're a mess, you know that. I'm going to get Ariel." She paused, awaiting a response of any kind.
Shin made no movement or acknolagement, staying curled as he had been.
"Shinkou," Aralu started, concerned. She stopped and shook her head. "Get him fixed, then find out what broke him. I'm getting Ariel," she repeated. "You're safe here. The only others who can get in here are Ariel and Helena." Still not receiving a response, she stroked his hair one more time and went in search of the red-haired scientist.
