The true meaning of the word 'Panic' ...
...is when you're on the highway, going 80 and suddenly the car starts swerving uncontrollably.
One of my tires fucked itself today makign it impossible for me to stear correctly. What started out as a small correction of path led to massive swerving back and forth that trying to correct only made worse.
I slammed on the breaks in a panic and the car swung around a compleate 180 and slid into a ditch, knockign agaist the side of the (minor) hill.
THankfuly, the people driving ahead and behind me noticed the distress before I went careaning into the ditch and pulled over to help as I sat in the car hyperveltalating. One of them worked for an auto body/towing place and looked teh car over as I cried in Juchan's shirt.
Soon after a state trooper stopped by and helped as well.
There was only minor damage to the car [the front bumper needs ducttape.] and after cheking it over, it was decided it was the tire and it just needed more air and I could roll down to the next exit and get it filled up properly.
Once I'd calmed down enough to not be a mess I did a 30 point turn as the state trooper blocked the lane for me and headed for the next exit, the trooper escorting.
Half a mile later the tire blew out compleatly. I pulled over and saw it was steaming.
Tow truck was called and half an hour later showed up.
Got new tire, drove home. 2 hours after we had left work. ><
The skid marks from the 180 showthe problem clearly too. 3 of them were regular curves while the 4th was alot more L shaped and screwy.
Judy and I are both fine. Not even really any wiplash. Just alot of adrenaline. Ooooh boy adrenaline...
